Great soundboard recording of the Hamburg 2001 concert! On the first radio broadcast, there was some traffic announcement during the intro of What it Is. Luckily, it was re-broadcasted again later without any interruptions. This perfect version can be found on this bootleg. The only song that was not broadcasted is Done with Bonaparte. To make the concert as complete as possible, the audience recording of Done with Bonaparte is put on this CD. Highly recommened!

Looking for Alternatives

As you all may have noticed, Fileserve no longer allows sharing files, thus is no longer an option for the continuous functionality of the site/blog.

Therefore, if any of you can suggest an option ranging the 10 dollar/Euro monthly for the upload and transfer of the files, I'd be delighted to try and keep the MarkKnopflerMusic Project alive.

Cheers.

Back in business!

After a few months of inactivity on my behalf due to workload, i am able to work again in the blog.

I changed the design as a reminder that www.markknopflermusic.com will/must not die. I will change from Rapidshare to fileserve, since Rapidshare is pretty useleess now. Hopefully here won't delete files as much, so iI will be reposting the most downloaded ones while posting new Mark Knopfler's Boots.

Thank you all for your messages and emails, I've read and apreciate every one of them.

For the time being I will rarely upload FLAC or lossless/uncompressed files, sorry, but my Upload Speed is not that fast to do FLACS.

For those of you asking about the simfy live Get Lucky 2010 Tour recordings:

Yes, i bought them all spending a lot of money, and no, I will not be posting these, since you can still get them for 14.95 here.

Cheers and i hope you'll all enjoy the new look.

The first Repost will be the first post this place ever had:

Los Angeles 2001, May 20th 2001

Enjoy

Mark Knopfler - Los Angeles 2001 (Repost)

A really rare and amazing good recording, taken from Mark Knopfler's In Ear Monitor (IEM). On this recording, you can hear exactly what Mark hears when he's on stage. His voice and guitar are obvious very clear on this recording. It's a soundboard recording, but it isn't from the "Front-of-house" soundboard, but from the "Stage Monitor" soundboard. Since these signals are separate monitor board mixes sent via a wireless frequency to the receiver pack that each musician wears, anyone with a wireless multi-channel receiver can record it as long as they know the frequency. And that's what probably happened during this show. What makes it even more unique is that this recording also features guest appearances of Jackson Browne on Sailing to Philadelphia and Bonnie Raitt on Prairie Wedding and Pyroman. Bonnie plays beautifully haunting slide guitar on Prairie Wedding and sings a high vocal harmony in the chorus. After the song Mark says: "Stick around Bonnie, stick around" followed by Pyroman on which she also plays great slide guitar. Very interesting concert, and an even more interesting sound source! Complete setlist.

And now a domain name for the blog

Hi everybody, i finally decided to get a domain for this little Mark Knopfler's space.

Hope you like my decision.

Sorry if i haven't posted as often as as you'd like, but work's been hell lately.

I appreciate all your emails and offers to help or donate, but baby steps.

If anyone could help me on how to move all the files the from rapidshare to a premium megaupload account, i'd be more than happy to offer both services to all of you.
